Pardew gives Newcastle injury news update at press conference today
Alan Pardew has said that there is no immediate good Newcastle injury news ahead of Saturday’s match at the Emirates.
The United boss has confirmed that Rolando Aarons isn’t ready to return and neither is Davide Santon, though I don’t think any of were expecting the Italian to suddenly appear against Arsenal.
“There will be no Rolando Aarons or Davide Santon and we are are pretty much where we were for Chelsea in terms of injuries.
On the goalkeeping front, Pardew has said that Rob Elliot won’t be back until the Chelsea or Southampton matches in January at the earliest, meaning that as things stand Jak Alnwick will carry the responsibility until then.
“Rob Elliot will be out for 6 or 7 games and Jak Alnwick will start in goal at Arsenal, we wish him well.”
As well as the suspended Moussa Sissoko and Steven Taylor, the injured players who missed Chelsea and are seemingly going to miss Arsenal as well are;
Santon, Krul, Elliot, De Jong, Aarons, Abeid, Ryan Taylor and Obertan.
