Alan Pardew has confirmed that Newcastle have picked up yet another injury in the defeat at Old Trafford, the United boss saying that he is ‘sweating’ on Paul Dummett being available against Everton after he was forced off after picking up an injury.

Massadio Haidara was nowhere to be seen in Manchester without even a place on the bench, whether tactical or due to injury wasn’t confimed.

However, speaking to the club’s official tv channel, Pardew has also confirmed that he has squeezed in an extra game for his development side to allow Jonas Gutierrez and Davide Santon to get a game, the manager saying he might need them against Everton and Burnley.

Alan Pardew also saying that he took off Ayoze Perez yesterday to ‘protect him’ ahead of these upcoming matches.

Alan Pardew;

“I took Perez off today to protect him a little bit, that’s where we are really.

“We don’t have enough bodies to go around.”

Sweating on Dummett;

“We are going to be sweating on Dummy (Paul Dummett) for two days time (Everton) because he had to come off today.

“We’ve squeezed a game in actually, an extra game, for our development side. (Davide) Santon and Jonas (Gutierrez) will play and I think we are perhaps going to need them in the next two (Everton & Burnley).”
