Nothing gets past Steven Taylor…
Nothing gets past Steven Taylor (cough cough) and with 38 goals in 66 Premier League starts (plus sub appearances), Romelu Lukaku has been identified as Everton’s biggest threat by the Newcastle centre-back.
Taylor has described the Belgian striker as an ‘absolute beast’ ahead of this afternoon’s match and he is a right handful.

Despite Everton’s indifferent start to the season, Lukaku still has seven goals in all competitions and last season he was one of the scousers’ three goalscorers in the embarrassingly easy 3-0 defeat at St. James’ Park.
“Lukaku is an absolute beast, a top player.
“They also have players like Barkley, who is another top player.”
Putting your head in the way;
“They’ve got good players left, right and centre who will hurt you if you give them time on the ball, so it is up to us to stand up, put our head in the way.
“We made it far too easy for Manchester United, showing them too much respect. “
Making Manchester United look good;
“We should have been right in their faces, put a few tackles in during the first five or ten minutes as we did against Chelsea.
“We need to put pressure on the opposition and we need to test them out. If you give them that much respect then anyone can look good and we made them (Man Utd) look good.”
I don’t know about putting your head in the way but Newcastle needed to use their heads a bit more at Old Trafford, rather than making poor decisions and gifting the ball to the opposition.
Today’s match is a (yet another) pivotal game as a win would potentially set up six points with Burnley to come, though Alan Pardew’s ambitions are for some reason 4 out of 6 points to ‘stabilise’ the season.
