A Newcastle player needs to step into unknown if going to beat Sunderland

One of the Newcastle players will need to step into the unknown if United are to beat Sunderland next weekend.

With Ryan Taylor out injured, Newcastle won’t have a single player to call on who has scored for Newcastle against Sunderland.

Hard to believe but that’s the truth, while United have a fair few available players who have beaten Sunderland, none of them have scored a single goal.

The record below showing the last ten derby matches sum up the situation.

12 goals have been scored by United players but apart from Raylor, the other 11 have comes from Nolan (4), Shola (5), Debuchy and Cabaye, all players no longer at the club.

The nearest we will have is Jack Colback who scored AGAINST Newcastle in that latest humiliating 3-0 defeat at St.James’ Park.

A bit like Alan Pardew, Papiss Cisse has looked clueless in the derby matches he’s been involved in, so will this Sunday be his day, or will somebody else step up to the plate?
