Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa on verge of completing move to AS Roma
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is on the verge of completing a permanent move to AS Roma.
Moving on loan to Rome just before the summer transfer window closed, the French international has become Roma’s best and most consistent defender.
In the process the on loan defender has played a total of seventeen times, including two as a sub, in all competitions, winning back his place in the French national squad in the process.
Now Sky Sport Italia have just revealed that there is a clause in Mapou’s loan agreement, which means that if the Frenchman plays twenty times during his loan spell then AS Roma are obliged to make the deal permanent with a £5.5m transfer fee.
A clear second just three points behind Juventus, Roma and Mapou restart after the winter break with a game at Udinese on January 6, meaning a permanent transfer looks sure to be activated in January unless AS Roma have a surprise change of heart.
No doubt Alan Pardew will be counting on this incoming money to help bring in desperately needed new players.
