Louis Van Gaal confirms at least six Manchester United players missing

Louis Van Gaal has revealed that he will have six, possibly, seven players missing for the Boxing Day clash with Newcastle.

Sadly the list doesn’t include Rooney, Di Maria, Van Persie, Mata, Carrick, De Gea…

Manchester United will be missing senior players Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rojo Daley Blind and twenty one year old Tom Thorpe.

The players were all missing for Aston Villa at the weekend and the only one who stands a chance of returning is Chris Smalling, who also missed that 1-1 draw.

Alan Pardew will be missing ten Newcastle players and so won’t be sparing much sympathy for his Manchester United counterpart.

Louis Van Gaal when asked whether he’d have any of his injured players back;

“I don’t think so – maybe Smalling, he’s a question mark and I will have to look tomorrow, but it’s always like that.

“My problem is that I have a lot of injured players, that’s the problem with these matches in the coming weeks.”

Special Offer: Arsenal 5/1 (should be 1/4) to beat QPR.

Offer applies to all new BetVictor customers, click HERE to take advantage.

Match is live on BT Sport Boxing Day 5.30pm
