Hatem Ben Arfa responds to Steve Bruce with ‘love’ and ‘admiration’
Steve Bruce claimed at the weekend that there hadn’t been any bust-up with Hatem Ben Arfa, despite hauling the player off at Old Trafford after only 35 minutes and then leaving him out of the eighteen players on duty for the matches against Everton and West Brom.
While the Hull manager was saying there hadn’t been any ‘incidents’ with the on-loan player, it did appear that it would take Bruce’s squad to be decimated for Hatem Ben Arfa to be considered for selection in the coming weeks.
“There is no disputing that he has got ability but ability isn’t enough at this level, so he will be training like everyone else will be training.”
If we have an injury crisis…;
“We have now got four or five weeks until January and we could lose three or four players next week and then there is a chance that he might be back in.
“We will see what December and January brings and have a sit down and see where we all are.”
Now the player himself has added to the debate but unlike his very public running battles with Alan Pardew at Newcastle, Ben Arfa has adopted a very different stance with Steve Bruce.
Saying via his Instagram account;
“I just wanted to clarify my situation.
“I have no problem with my coach (Steve Bruce).
“This is someone that I love, that I respect and I admire!”
