Good news for Newcastle as Arsenal injuries give Wenger problems in defence.
Following on from Arsene Wenger being forced to substitute both Flamini and Ramsey at half-time in Tuesday’s Champions League match at Galatasaray, the Gunners are now looking short at the back.
The one definitely fit central defender is Per Mertesacker and he had an absolute nightmare against Stoke as the Gunners went down 3-2 last weekend.
19 year old right-back Hector Bellerin played left-back against Galatasaray on Tuesday, while Mathieu Debuchy lasted 77 minutes on his comeback from injury before Wenger threw on 17 year old Stefan O’Connor.
Gibbs is expected to come back in on Saturday after apparently being rested in the Champions League but there is plenty of room for optimism, that Newcastle can get joy if they can get at the Arsenal back four, whoever ends up playing there.
