Fabricio Coloccini says no to replacing Alan Pardew

Fabricio Coloccini has told Newcastle United that he doesn’t want to replace Alan Pardew as manager.

Having previously carried various Coloccini exclusives and obviously being close to the player, The Independent have reported that after meeting ‘club bosses’ this morning, the Newcastle Captain has made clear he doesn’t want the job.

The Argentinian is said to just want to concentrate on his duties as player and captain.

Fabricio Coloccini has a good relationship with Mike Ashley and in the absence of any other obvious candidates and considering the mad way Ashley runs Newcastle United, it’s not surprising fans were prepared to believe he could give the job to Colo, despite absolutely no managerial or coaching experience.

It would have been very bizarre if indeed Fabricio Coloccini had taken up Mike Ashley’s apparent offer.

While Alan Pardew wouldn’t shut up talking about every aspect of the club, Fabricio Coloccini has repeatedly refused to speak on camera to the English media or indeed the club’s own TV channel.

In fact I can’t remember ever seeing Colo doing an interview in English, apart from him answering one question before a friendly match in New Zealand this summer, when he simply confirmed that he had previously played at a stadium that had a roof over the top of it.

Exactly how he would have taken on the press duties would have been interesting.

Let’s all hope though that whatever happens we don’t have to listen to Steve Bruce who is now the bookies’ latest favourite to replace Alan Pardew, see all the betting odds HERE.
