‘Every game we’ll have our A team playing’ Alan Pardew responds to Cup poser
Alan Pardew has insisted that in every match, including the cups, he will have his ‘A team’ playing.
The Newcastle manager was responding to a French journalist at his pre-Arsenal press conference who said he’d been speaking to a lot of fans, who had told him that there was a big problem of United not taking the Cups seriously and playing weakened teams.
Pardew was adamant and said that no game has priority over another…
“We want to win them all if we can but there’s no game has priority over another, particularly this stage of the season now.
“We have the FA Cup third round coming up, which is going to be a tough game. Another tough away draw for us, so we’ll hopefully – fingers crossed, because that has been a problem fixture for us, have everybody fit and available for those games.
“Every game we will have our A team playing.”
We await with interest because only a year ago with Newcastle already almost guaranteed staying up, Pardew left out United’s two most influential players, Cabaye and Remy, with NUFC going down to a feeble Cardiff in the third round of the FA Cup.
Has there been a change of direction and will Mike Ashley allow Pardew to play his best team against Spurs on Wednesday and at Leicester in the FA Cup?
Only time will tell.
