Alan Pardew reveals level of Newcastle ambition

Alan Pardew says that he hopes Newcastle can ‘push for top eight’ in the Premier League if he can get his goalkeepers and Siem De Jong back, earlier rather than later.

Surely though after seeing the very average state of the Premier League this season and the promise shown by a decent number of his players, the Newcastle manager should look at finishing outside the top eight as failure.

No mention of January signings but Pardew would claim anyway that they wouldn’t reveal their plans etc etc.

Surely though Newcastle should look to bring in at least one striker and hopefully another central defender if there is any serious intention of building on recent resuklts.

Alan Pardew;

“Into January, if I can get Siem de Jong back and my two goalies return we’re going to look a very strong squad. We can push for top eight I hope, at the moment I think we’re just finding our way.

“It’s another new team and probably my third team since I have been here. I like this one as it has got a nice blend to it.”

Had some great times;

“We’ve had some great times and beaten a lot of great teams.

“We have had some success, got ourselves into Europe, finished fifth and then got to the quarter-finals of the Europa League so we do need to improve on this if we can.”
