Alan Pardew hopes for 4 points from 6 to ‘stabilise our position’

Alan Pardew has stated that Newcastle need to get a win and a draw from the home matches against Everton and Burnley to ‘stabilise our position’.

Only days ago the United manager was talking of wins against Manchester United, Everton and Burnley to get Newcastle back to the top.

Talk about changing ambitions….

In advance of the visit of Everton, Pardew says Newcastle have defended very well this year and need to get back to that…if that was ever true in the first place.

The Newcastle boss also claims some of his players were ‘outstanding’ at Old Trafford – Ayoze Perez was good but not sure about outstanding, as for the rest, a few were decent at best.

Exactly what giving the medical staff ‘full jurisdiction’ will actually do is anybody’s guess…

Alan Pardew;

“I thought the performances from some of our players (v Man Utd) was outstanding, Perez in particular.

“The more he plays the more he ingrains himself into the very fabric of this team.”

Medical team have ‘full jurisdiction’…;

“We have two home games and we need to try and take four points from those two games to stabilise our position.

“I’ve got my medical team on full jurisdiction to get some bodies back…and maybe in  January we need to get one or two in, just to make sure we push on in second half of the season.

Defended very well this year;

“I think we need to defend better than we did today.

“We’ve defended very well this year, especially against the top teams, but today we were a little bit loose.”
