Turkish claims of Newcastle, Spurs and West Ham January bids for Demba Ba
Reports in Turkey claim Demba Ba is the subject of interest from Spurs, Newcastle and West Ham in January.
Dedicated Turkish TV sports channel NTV Spor claim that their information is that all three English clubs have expressed an interest in bringing the former United striker back to England.
Ba only moved to Besiktas in the summer for £5m from Chelsea and has already scored ten goals in all competitions for his new club, helping them to third in the league and only two points off the top.
West Ham appear to have no shortage of attacking options after their summer spending and Andy Carroll is at last available again.
Likewise, very hard to see Mike Ashley showing any interest now in paying the kind of wages Demba Ba he wouldn’t pay him at Newcastle, plus the estimated £8m transfer fee being put on his head in Turkey.
If there is any substance in Ba wanting away from Turkey then Spurs would look the most likely destination of the three clubs, struggling for goals and form, plus a squad that looks desperate for players to take responsibility.
Personally I would love to see Demba Ba back on Tyneside but I just can’t see it ever happening.
