Sky report Newcastle loan player emergency recall as injuries mount
Wednesday afternoon has seen Sky Sports report that Newcastle United are set to recall Remie Streete back to St.James’ Park.
The twenty year old centre-back only had his loan extended last week with the player due to stay at Port Vale until January 4.
However, Sky Sports’ Pete O’Rourke has said that the player is being recalled now by Newcastle.
Streete has featured in three of Port Vale’s games and is said to have impressed both the supporters and manager Rob Page.
This weekend’s win at West Brom saw Paul Dummett play as an emergency centre-back with Steven Taylor injured and Mike Williamson only on the bench after a number of games out through injury.
Fabricio Coloccini limped off with a calf injury on Sunday and while Alan Pardew said he hoped his captain would be back for QPR a week on Saturday, if Streete does indeed get recalled then you would have to worry about Coloccini and the other options likely to be available for that next match and beyond.
