Sam Allardyce beats Alan Pardew to October award
Four managers were selected as nominees for the October Premier League manager of the month award; Sam Allardyce, Jose Mourinho, Steve Bruce and…Alan Pardew.
The winner isn’t always selected on the exact number of points picked up, so the Newcastle manager was in with a shout?
However, it is our old mate Fat Sam who has been awarded the prize after the four managers posted the following Premier League results in October;
Sam Allardyce: West Ham 2 QPR 0, Burnley 1 West Ham 3, West Ham 2 Manchester City 1
Jose Mourinho: Chelsea 2 Arsenal 0, Crystal Palace 1 Chelsea 2, Manchester Utd 1 Chelsea 1
Steve Bruce: Hull 2 Crystal Palace 0, Arsenal 2 Hull 2, Liverpool 0 Hull 0
Alan Pardew: Swansea 2 Newcastle 2, Newcastle 1 Leicester 0, Spurs 1 Newcastle 2
It was a double celebration for the Hammers as one time supposed Newcastle target Diafra Sakho won the Premier League player of the month award, having scored in each of the three wins last month.
