Redknapp verdict on Newcastle visit to West Brom
Harry Redknapp’s slightly less annoying son Jamie, has been giving his verdict on Newcastle’s visit to the Hawthorns.
Redknapp praises the recent turn around at United and predicts a close game between two in-form teams.
The Premier League recent form table shows almost identical results, with both clubs picking up three wins and two draws in the last six matches, though the Baggies have the slightly better goal difference in that time.
Both clubs started the season with only two points after the first four matches but in that recent for table, West Brom are sixth and Newcastle one place below.
Jamie Redknapp speaking to Sky Sports;
“Looking forward to West Brom v Newcastle, two in-form sides.
“I think Newcastle have picked up immensely. A lot of people were saying Alan Pardew should be sacked but the performances have been immense after sticking with him.”
Redknapp picks out Saido Berahino as the big player in the game, he has already scored eight goals this season as well as scoring for fun with England Under 21s, leading to his call-up for the senior squad this week.
There were rumours in the summer Newcastle were interested in the West Brom striker and after seeing him last season, I thought he would have been a magnificent signing but it wasn’t to be;
“In Berahino, West Brom have got probably the in-form centre forward in the country. Scoring lots of goals, seems to be able to run past people.
“He can play up front on his own and he has been very impressive.”
Lots of goals?;
“I think it is going to be a tight game with lots of goals because of the confidence both teams are playing with.”
