Alan Pardew has revealed how long Tim Krul will be out injured.

The Newcastle keeper picking up an ankle injury in training ahead of the visit to West Ham.

Speaking after defeat to the Hammers, the United boss says that Krul will miss the next four or five matches with Rob Elliot deputising.

In order, the next five games are;

Burnley (A)

Chelsea (H)

Arsenal (A)

Spurs (A) League Cup QF

Sunderland (H)

Alan Pardew;

“Rob Elliot will be in goal for the next four or five games.

“It has been blow after blow this year, but we have rode them and that’s been the key to our success.

“We have put younger players in and those in the group (squad). We lose Tim but Rob has produced a super performance.”

Typical that it coudln’t have coincided with an international break, instead the injury occurring at the busiest time of the year.

Initial reports were that Tim Krul could miss at least a month and with that game against the Mackems in only three weeks time, missing these next five matches could be the best case scenario, with a further five matches in the next three weeks after that derby game.

[intlink id=”191″ type=”page”]United fixtures[/intlink] against Man U (A), Everton (H), Burnley (H), FA Cup 3rd round, Chelsea (A).

With the Krul injury on top of an already packed treatment room, the SIssoko/Colback suspensions on Tuesday night could hardly have happened at a worse time.
