Newcastle v West Brom man of the match lands half the votes
Ayoze Perez scored his third match winner in a row with an outrageous effort, yet didn’t even make the first three in our Newcastle v West Brom man of the match poll!
Thanks to everybody who voted and obvious special mention for Daryl Janmaat who landed just a whisker less than half of the votes with 48% of the total.
Paul Dummett is revelling in his new/temporary position at the heart of defence, a second clean sheet in a row for him at centre-back. Interestingly in the lead up to this West Brom match, it was the first time that Dummett was easily the choice of fans ahead of Massadio Haidara. Though in the end both players players due to Steven Taylor’s injury.
Mehdi Abeid gets a very respectable third after another authoritative display in the middle of the pitch, then we have natch winner Perez who gave it his all in a lively performance and sublime crucial goal.
Ironically, if everybody had been fit, then no way that of the top four Perez and Abeid would have played, while Dummett definitely wouldn’t have been centre-back.
Daryl Janmaat though has been easily the most consistent Newcastle player so far this season and putting in crosses like he did yesterday, he’s currently got the total all-round game.
