New training injury means Newcastle star touch and go for West Ham

Just when a number of first team players are back in training after injury problems, a new injury has knocked Alan Pardew with Tim Krul picking up a knock in training.

The Dutch keeper is rated touch and go as to whether he will play, with Rob Elliot to come in if he doesn’t make it.

The injury is unspecified at the moment but hopefully it is not connected to the elbow injury that saw Tim Krul sent home from international duty earlier in the season.

With five weeks since he last conceded a goal in the Premier League, Krul will be gutted if he doesn’t face West Ham, as will the Newcastle fanbase who have seen the Dutch keeper return to something close to his best.

Alan Pardew revealed earlier today that four players including Fabricio Coloccini had returned to training after spells out of action.
