Injury news – Alan Pardew rules out two and another two doubtful for West Brom
At today’s pre-West Brom press conference, Alan Pardew had injury news confirming that Cheick Tiote will miss West Brom and be out for at least another two weeks.
Appearing to confirm that he won’t travel to the Ivory Coast’s upcoming double header, even if selected.
The Newcastle manager also confirming news earlier today that Gabriel Obertan has torn a muscle in his thigh and won’t be back in the ‘short-term’. Following surgery on Thursday, initial reports are suggesting March at the earliest for the winger’s return.
The Newcastle manager has also said that Rolando Aarons is a ‘doubt’ after picking up a knock, with no doubt many fans wondering if this is a knock-on effect from being brought back too early. Pardew having admitted that he played him at Manchester City against expert advice.
Another player who the United boss is unsure of is Papiss Cisse, Pardew saying that the striker’s knee is being ‘monitored’.
Following last Saturday’s win over Liverpool, Alan Pardew said that he thought Cisse’s movement was being hampered by the after effects of his knee injury, though the player disagreed.
