Great news for Newcastle as West Ham strikers ruled out
Great news for Newcastle as West Ham’s two in form strikers have been ruled out of Saturday’s match.
The Hammers’ two top scorers, Sakho and Valencia were hoping to be fit for the United game but won’t make it.
Ironically, Newcastle were linked with both forwards in the summer before their moves to Upton Park and Alan Pardew has stated that he believes the Hammers were the most successful Premier League club in the summer transfer market.
The well connected West Ham website claretandhugh have just reported that their source at the club has confirmed that Kouyate and Downing ‘look certain to be involved’ but Mark Noble is only 50/50, while none of the injured strikers will return in time.
This means it is nailed on that Andy Carroll will face his old club.
“Kouyate and Downing look certain to be involved, unless we have any further problems, but they are being wrapped in cotton wool.
“We had hoped that at least one of the strikers might make it but that won’t happen. Given all the problems we are just grateful to have got a couple of them back.
“We have another important match on Tuesday evening at West Brom and the medical staff are working at full stretch.”
