Alan Pardew says everybody wants to know his ‘Secret Ingredient’
Alan Pardew claims that he was always confident Newcastle would turn things around, despite no wins in the opening seven Premier League matches.
The United boss was asked about the secret of the change in fortunes and he says everybody wants to know that ‘secret ingredient’.
Pardew claims that the only answer is doing the right thing enough times, though it does call into question what has happened throughout 2014, not just the opening matches of this season.
Some fans would argue that relentlessly doing the wrong things was a big part of Pardew and Newcastle’s failure, selecting players such as Anita and Gouffran who were giving the team next to nothing;
While negative tactics gave the opposition the initiative and left the team looking regularly helpless after conceding the first goal.
“When you turn results around, everyone is looking for a secret ingredient.
“It is not really a secret ingredient, it is about doing the right thing enough of the times.
“We was doing that in some of the games but not getting the results.”
I was fairly confident…;
“Some of the stats I had coming through were kind of reflecting we should have had better results. So I was fairly confident that once we got a win we could get the points we desperately needed.”
This team can grow;
“We have deserved the victories we have had.
“I think we have gave ourselves and the fans confidence that the team can grow. We have a lot of young players in the group and they are really benefitting from this spell.”
