Alan Pardew says that he loves the ‘Banter’ with Newcastle fans.

Asked about the ‘Back from the dead’ banner which appeared at the Liverpool match, the Newcastle manager claims that he can take all the banners and ‘banter’, whether it is giving him a lift or a knock.

Funnily enough, I can’t quite remember the United boss having quite as a relaxed attitude when asked about the ‘Sack Pardew’ banners after no wins in Newcastle’s first seven Premier League matches…

At the pre-West Brom press conference Alan Pardew was asked the following questions;

‘Out on the town after Liverpool?’

“No, I was too tired actually in the end. It was nice to see all our fans get about and enjoy a victory.

“I think that is very very important for this City, I did have a couple of glasses of wine though, which was nice.”

‘Asked about ‘Pardew back from the dead’ banner.’

“It is funny, that is what great football banter is like.

“That camaraderie on the terraces and you know, bringing you up and taking you down.

“Giving you a lift and giving you a knock, that is part of the business.”

Asked if the poor form and fans calling for his head had given him a thick skin?

“My skin is about as thick as the coat you have got.

“It is pretty thick but I love working at this club, I love working with this group of players. They are an honest group and I think they can improve.

“That is where my focus lies, nowhere else.”
