Alan Pardew reveals working with a mentor to ‘focus my winning mentality’
Alan Pardew has revealed that he has been working with a mentor who has helped him to ‘focus my winning mentality’.
The Newcastle manager told the London Evening Standard that he never really hit David Meyler in that incident at Hull last season but many fans thought Pardew was lucky not to be sacked for what he did.
I never really hit him;
“I never really hit him (David Meyler) but it is important when you do something wrong that you don’t hide.
“You admit that you’ve done something wrong and you have to correct it.
“I have worked with a mentor, somebody who has helped me focus my winning mentality.”
Winning mentality will never leave Pardew;
“My capacity to want to win has overspilt in a couple of incidents and I have had to channel that in a better way.
“That winning mentality will never leave me.”
In a more intelligent way;
“But I need to get it across on to the pitch in different ways, in a more intelligent way, in my preparation, in my concentration at half-time and full-time.”
