Alan Pardew confirms three out injured with Steven Taylor a ‘big doubt’
At today’s press conference ahead of the QPR match on Saturday, Alan Pardew has provided injury updates on four players.
The Newcastle manager confirms that Fabricio Coloccini, Cheick Tiote and Rolando Aarons will all definitely miss Saturday’s match, while Steven Taylor is described as being a ‘big doubt’.
Whether this is just more patter or whether there will be also some good news on the injury front reflected in the team selection against QPR, we will have to wait and see.
“We have suffered some injuries, managed to repair the squad a bit, but still missing one or two players.”
“We’ve done really well and the mood in the camp is buoyant. Our young players deserve a lot of credit, as do the senior guys.”
“There will be a bit more expectation on us this weekend than in recent weeks, therefore a different type of hurdle to overcome.”
With Coloccini definitely out and Steven Taylor seemingly almost certainly out as well, Pardew has summed up potential problems that could be posed by Rangers’ in-form strikers;
“Zamora and Austin have been a good combination for QPR, they’ve improved and will be tough, but we hope we can beat them.”
