Alan Pardew calls meeting to confront problems

Alan Pardew called a meeting with his staff before kick-off against West Brom to confront problems at the training ground.

The Newcastle manager is concerned at the number of injuries that are happening between matches and has now come up with a plan to confront this.

However, Pardew does admit that he and his coaches are pushing the players to the limit which leads to inevitable casualties, though he believes that this is a major reason for the winning run.

“We suffered injuries in training this week and I was a bit disappointed with that.

“I met my staff today and we are going to change one or two things.

“But we are pushing these players to the limit, we are trying to get the maximum we can. If you do that then you are going to lose players here and there.

Super fit;

“But the other players you can see are super fit and we are strong, but we do need a few more bodies back.

Alan Pardew is hoping to have at least three currently injured players back for QPR in two weeks time; Steven Taylor and Emmanuel Riviere who missed the West Brom match, while Fabricio Coloccini picked up a calf injury and was substituted but the manager hopes to have him available;

“I think Steven (Taylor) should be back for QPR, I think Riviere should be back and I’m hoping Colo comes through.”
