Alan Pardew 10 game judgement day comparison
Alan Pardew said to fans that he should be judged after ten Premier League matches.
Obviously everybody has been lifted by the results over the last two weeks but how should we judge Pardew and his team’s ten match performance?

Below I’ve detailed United’s last eight seasons (2009/10 was in the Championship), with the number of points gained in each of the first ten match period, along with goals for and against in those games;
2007/08 – 17 points (GF 17 GA 13)
2008/09 – 9 points (GF 12 GA 18)
2009/10 – 23 points (GF 18 GA 5)
2010/11 – 14 points (GF 19 GA 14)
2011/12 – 22 points (GF 15 GA 7)
2012/13 – 14 points (GF 12 GA 14)
2013/14 – 14 points (GF 14 GA 16)
2014/15 – 13 points (GF 11 GA 15)
These figures show in this eight year period, only the relegation season saw Newcastle gain fewer points than this season.
In addition, in these eight years United have never scored as few as this year’s total of eleven goals in ten years.
Whilst when it comes to goals conceded, apart from the relegation year, the only season Newcastle have conceded more goals in the opening ten games is last year.
What this tells us (in my opinion) is that these great battling wins against Spurs and Liverpool will count for nothing if Newcastle don’t carry this form into Sunday’s match and beyond, after all the Mackems are still only two points behind…
