Will a Friday ‘warm down’ be enough for these two Newcastle players to play?

The results of our fans poll on who should start today, had [intlink id=”49026″ type=”post”]Papiss Cisse and Cheick Tiote[/intlink] above everybody else as the two key players for Newcastle against Leicester.

Unfortunately, these two didn’t arrive back on Tyneside until Friday, after both played two matches in the African Cup of Nations qualifying.

What makes it even tougher is that Cisse only had one club start under his belt so far this season, while as Alan Pardew says, Cheick Tiote had to play Wednesday’s match with only ten men for all the second half.

“The two boys who traveled to Africa are not back yet but the reports are that they are well, which I am pleased about.

“Particularly for Cheick (Tiote), because they had a tough game and went down to ten men for I think the whole of the second half.

“So we will have to be careful with them. It will be just a warm down for them tomorrow (Friday), so tactically it is hard for all the Premiership managers this week, as we want to work on certain things.

“Particularly us because we want to improve and that is taken away from us.”

Alan Pardew has already taken a chance when bringing back Cisse against Hull when he wasn’t fully fit, risking either of these two if not fully prepared could be a massive blow if it all goes wrong for one or both of them.
