Tribute to ‘Guy who puts all the stories about pro footballers to bed’

Ryan Taylor was thrown into his first competitive match in 26 months against the reigning Champions.

Not only did he last the full 96 minutes, but Taylor set up the vital first goal with a great tackle, then produced a late brilliant saving block to stop a certain goal (watch it [intlink id=”49596″ type=”post”]HERE[/intlink]), preventing Manchester City potentially getting a way back into the game.

Alan Pardew  paid tribute after the match and says that Ryan Taylor is somebody who puts all the preconceptions about modern day players to bed;

“This is a guy who puts all those stories about professional footballers being the wrong type, to bed.

“He is a model pro, a model person and I don’t think there’s many players I know who could have conducted themselves in such a lovely manner.”

Getting his reward;

“With two years out injured he kept his head together, has done his work and got his reward tonight.

“He is a good player, we all know that, but to come in at that level and to play as well as he did, is a tribute to him and no one else.”
