Three Newcastle Players Back From Injury To Face Leicester
Better news for Newcastle United and Alan Pardew ahead of the visit of Leicester on Saturday 18th October.
Paul Dummett and Daryl Janmaat are scheduled to start training again next week in advance of that Premier League clash with the Foxes.
The Shields Gazette report that the injuries that forced both Janmaat (hamstring) and Dummett (thigh) to drop out of their respective national squads, are not as bad as first thought and both players should be able to train with the non-international players in the coming days.
As always Alan Pardew likes to get his excuses in first and says about this international break causing him problems;
“It is a time when we lose all our best players, they then come back and we are going to have two days to prepare for a massive game.”
Considering how few of these best players (Tiote, Cisse, Krul, Sissoko, Cabella) we now have out on international duty compared to most other Premier League clubs, you can hardly say it is a handicap when for every other club it is the same.
The third player who is reported to be fine now is Steven Taylor, his omission from the bench at Swansea was taken by everybody as simply a quirk of Alan Pardew’s.
However, it later emerged that Taylor had missed sitting on the bench due to an unspecified injury problem which is now reported by the Shields Gazette to have cleared up.
