Swansea Boss ‘The Possession Was So Easy’

7 years ago

Swansea racked up 64% of the play and their manager Garry Monk summed it up after the final whistle, commenting ‘The possession was so easy’.

The Swans are noted for their possession statistics but today they added attacking threat to that and Wilfried Bony alone could have had a hat-trick.

Credit to Tim Krul who produced two cracking saves to prevent that.

Garry Monk speaking to Sky Sports on Swansea’s possession;

“The possession was so easy, that the concentration lapsed a little. I talked to the players about managing the game , those moments when it is so easy for us to keep the ball.

“We have to do it properly and concentrate on keeping the ball. The two times we didn’t do it, were they two times we were punished.”

Summing up the uneven contest Monk said;

“We were in control and had enough chances to put the game to bed, but never quite did that and in this league you run that risk.

“We should have won that game, to be honest, the two chances that they had were the two times we didn’t concentrate and we were punished for it.

“That is what this league can do to you, there is disappointment in the changing room but one point is better than nothing.”
