Shola Ameobi sinks to new depths in Turkey – Video

Shola Ameobi’s spell in Turket continues to go from bad to worse.

Still without a win in the league and third bottom of the Turkish second tier, on Friday night the former Newcastle striker’s season went down another couple of notches.

Beaten 1-0 at home by Sanliurfaspor, Shola’s Gaziantep slipped down to second bottom and only goal difference is keeping them off rock bottom.

As for Shola Ameobi personally, it wasn’t just yet another loss for his team that ruined his Friday night.

Injury forced Shola off after only fifteen minutes with Cavadov replacing him.

The winner came with only fifteen minutes left and it was a canny free-kick that won it, you can watch below in the video footage.

When you watch you will see there are at least a handful of away fans celebrating but as the camera scans around, there appears almost nobody in the other stands.

I have tried to find crowd figures in recent weeks for Shola’s new club but have come to the conclusion that they must hardly bother publicising them as they are so feeble.

Yet again I find myself very very curious as to why Shola has bothered going on this anonymous adventure where nobody really seems bothered enough to even watch the games.
