Sammy Ameobi ‘We wouldn’t be where we are now if we hadn’t stuck together’

Sammy Ameobi has said that the team ‘wouldn’t be where we are now’ if they hadn’t stuck together.

However, it may seem a little premature to be talking as those Newcastle are anywhere else but still fighting relegation at this moment in time.

One thing Ameobi isn’t wrong about is when he says Manchester City isn’t an easy place to go.

Well it certainly isn’t for Newcastle, the last six visits have been defeats and it is fourteen seasons ago since United won – 1-0 thanks to an Alan Shearer goal.

Sammy Ameobi speaking to the official club website;

“It has been a tough start to the season but we have stuck together.

“We had to stick together or we wouldn’t be where we are now.”

Fighting for it;

“We have had to just fight for it because that is the Premier League, there’s no easy games and hopefully we can kick on from here.”

Never an east place to go;

“It is never an easy place to go, Manchester City, but I’m really looking forward to it.

“If we can go out with the confidence we had against Tottenham, you never know what can happen.”

Injury-free football;

“Hopefully I can get a good stint of football, that is all I want, injury-free football.

“I will keep working, strengthening myself and hopefully I’ll get that.”
