Should Remy Cabella Start Against Leicester? Vote Now
Should Remy Cabella start against Leicester City on Saturday?
A simple question that only requires a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer, but something that could go a long way to deciding Newcastle United’s short and long-term future, as well as that of Alan Pardew.
Only two months ago this would seem a very bizarre question, considering that Remy Cabella was presented as the answer to all of our worries about a lack of creativity.
The Frenchman thrown straight into a team that lacks quality, then 503 Premier League minutes later without any goals or assists, are we better off having Cabella on the bench or on the pitch from the start?
Along with pretty much all his colleagues, Remy Cabella was poor against Stoke.
We might then have got a draw in the following match with Swansea when Cabella was left out, but it was a very lucky point on the back of two cracking Papiss Cisse goals more or less out of nothing.
Gouffran gave what has becomes his usual poor performance, while Obertan was given a start and did next to nothing, with the exception of an assist for Cisse’s first goal – though in reality Papiss made a very average cross into a cracking goal.
Cabella got half an hour as a sub last night for France as they beat Armenia 3-0 in a friendly, the Newcastle player not standing out although he created one great chance for Loic Remy. Hopefully though that run out will have restored a little confidence.
So no obvious answer to the question (for me at least) but what is your gut feeling – should Newcastle’s playmaker be restored to the side against Leicester?
