Speaking at his pre-match press conference before Saturday’s visit of Liverpool, Alan Pardew has revealed that Papiss Cisse is ‘Touch and Go’ for the match.

With Emmanuel Riviere coming back last night as a substitute against Manchester City, he would be likely to lead the line if Cisse didn’t make it.

However, a spirited performance by Adam Armstrong at the Etihad will have been further evidence for many supporters that he should get the nod if the Senegalese forward doesn’t make it.

Newcastle United also released the following snippets from Pardew’s press conference;

“We are winning games again and that is what the fans want to see. We have got a group who can excite the fans.

“We want to improve on our league position by beating Liverpool. It is always a great fixture and is set up to be a cracking game.”
