Pardew ‘We’re Fighting The Opposition, Press, Opposition Fans,Even Some Of Our Own Fans’
Alan Pardew has come out with fighting talk and trying to clearly build some kind of siege mentality amongst his players.
Whatever this team are, I don’t think they are the kind of gritty dogs of war types who will get out of this mess by sheer willpower and fight, with only really Cheick (‘[intlink id=”48289″ type=”post”]Honest, I don\’t want to leave\'[/intlink])Tiote and Moussa Sissoko, possibly fitting that kind of profile.
When summoning up images for his players of who is ranked against them in this ‘fight’, Pardew has named the enemy as being; opposition teams, the media, opposition fans and even some of Newcastle United’s own supporters.
I can’t see this rallying call impacting in the right way on our squad, while beyond that it is pretty much alienating everybody else.
Apart from the few remaining who think it is just bad luck that the last 26 Premier League games have only given us [intlink id=”48260″ type=”post”]19 points out of 78 and failed to score in 17 of those 26 games[/intlink].
Alan Pardew pre-Swansea;
“I think it is important the players understand that we are fighting here.
“We are fighting everything; the opposition, the press, the opposition fans and even some of our own fans.
“It is a lot for players to deal with.”
The Newcastle manager though claims that he is an old hand at dealing with this kind of pressure, despite claiming earlier this week that for him this current crisis was a unique experience for him;
“I have dealt with it before, I have experience of it and I’m trying to educate my players.
“You can’t go into games unless you are battle hardened and even though this appears at the moment to be an awful spell for this football club, we are getting battle hardened for the rest of the games.
“It has come to us quickly, the pressure, and we need to deal with it.
“On a personal level, I know one thing about myself, I will just keep on fighting until such time as I think there’s nothing left to give, and there is plenty of fight in me at the moment.”
