Pardew claims Spurs win proves he knows what he’s doing

Alan Pardew has claimed that today’s win at Tottenham is proof to fans that he does know what he is doing.

The Newcastle manager says that the ‘Geordie Nation’ doesn’t think he’s good enough but thinks that both his and his players’ performance today says otherwise.

While even his harshest critic must allow Alan Pardew to share the glory today from a great fightback, surely he must take responsibility for the team selection in the first half where as he puts it, they didn’t even make a tackle.

Obertan and Anita were both anonymous and Pardew’s team set-up invited Spurs on, if they’d had a bit of composure and/or less cockiness then any changes at half-time would have been irrelevant.

It was surely just desperation when Pardew threw Cabella & Sammy on for the second-half and it looked as though Spurs never recovered from that seven second goal from Ameobi (watch it [intlink id=”49402″ type=”post”]HERE[/intlink]), great strike from Newcastle’s point of view but shockingly unprofessional at the kick-off from Tottenham.

“At the moment the Geordie nation don’t think that I’m good enough so hopefully that’s ticked one box that I do know what I am doing.

“I was pretty angry with what I saw in the first half.”

Lull them in…;

“When you are dominant, like Spurs, in the first half it can actually lull them in. I thought it was an opportunity for us but only if we made it better.

Told them the fundamentals;

“We didn’t make a tackle in the first half and the fundamentals of football had to be reminded to one or two of them.

“We got that right, we also had a bit more quality on the pitch (second half) and got two great goals.”

Pardew just can’t stop himself, yes take credit for coming out with the three points but wining one match can’t then wipe put the fact it is only the seventh Premier Le\ague win in ten months.

Maybe if by Christmas we are at least top ten then there will have been some kind of a decent recovery but not one decent (forty five minute!) performance (Watch Perez’ winner [intlink id=”49406″ type=”post”]HERE[/intlink]).
