Newcastle injury news – United star fails Leicester fitness test
It has been confirmed that Emmanuel Riviere will miss Newcastle’s home match with Leicester.
Earlier today it was reported that the French forward had picked up a knock in training and was struggling.
All eyes will now be on Papiss Cisse who has played only 150 minutes of Premier League action but who has just had two matches for Senegal in the space of a few days.
Cisse and Tiote were due back on Tyneside today and both are surely crucial to Newcastle’s hopes against Leicester and in the coming weeks and months.
If Cisse isn’t in a position to start then it is any guess of one or more of the following up front; Ferreyre, Gouffran, Perez and Armstrong.
My guess is that Alan Pardew may well have started Emmanuel Riviere tomorrow and then brought Cisse on, taking into consideration the international matches and travel.
That’s no longer an option so it could be an interesting selection tomorrow.
