Mike Ashley has demanded the removal of two Rangers Directors.

Via his MASH (Mike Ashley Shareholdings) vehicle, Ashley has given notice to Rangers International Football Club, calling for a general meeting to put a number of resolutions to them.

That notice includes resolutions to remove Directors Graham Wallace and Philip Nash.

Rangers have said that they are currently verifying that the notice was properly constituted.

Rangers said that they were verifying the notice was properly constituted.

The football club have released this statement;

“If valid, the Board intends to seek to have such Notice withdrawn in order to avoid the cost and disruption of an ad hoc general meeting particularly given the Company’s forthcoming Annual General Meeting, further details of which will be announced in due course.

“The Board is united in its support of the executive team. If the Notice is valid and is not withdrawn, the Directors intend to recommend that Shareholders vote against the proposed resolutions.”

Rangers added that a further announcement would be made shortly.

Looking on from this side of the border, [intlink id=”48501″ type=”post”]Newcastle fans once again wonder[/intlink] what the knock-on effects are of Mike Ashley’s obvious keen interest in affairs at Rangers.
