Injury Blow – Holland Send Tim Krul Home

Tim Krul has now been sent home by Holland after injuring himself in training.

This follows the earlier injuries to Daryl Janmaat with a hamstring injury and Paul Dummett suffering a thigh injury, the Dutch and Welsh set-up sending those two players home last week.

Now Tim Krul has injured his elbow in training, the Newcastle keeper instantly sent home to Tyneside and he misses the Iceland match on Monday, Kenneth Vermeer replacing him.

More worryingly for Newcastle fans is that the crucial match against Leicester is only a week away and the thought of going into that match without Krul doesn’t bear thinking about, never mind him potentially being out longer than that.

An elbow injury isn’t one that you want your keeper to have and two years ago Tim Krul missed around six weeks early season with an injury to his elbow.

The Newcastle keeper looked right back to his best as he single-handedly prevented Wilfried Bony complete a hat-trick a week ago and with Papiss Cisse’s help, bank a valuable point for United, just how serious this latest injury is remains to be seen.
