France Win 3-0 With Remy Cabella and Moussa Sissoko
France made it ten friendlies in a row unbeaten with the help of Moussa Sissoko and Remy Cabella.
Armenia defeated 3-0 in Yerevan, making it 7 wins and 3 draws in the last ten non-competitive matches.
Sissoko started the game and only took four minutes to make his mark, booked after treading on a defender’s foot.
Ex-Newcastle loanee Loic Remy opened the scoring only three minutes later, finishing off a quality team move.
Ten minutes into the second half, supposed one-time Newcastle target Andre-Pierre Gignac made it two from the penalty spot after Paul Pogba drew the foul.
On the hour mark a double substitution saw Sissoko leave the action and Remy Cabella join it, though Cabella replaced Dimitri Payet and Griezmann came on for Sissoko.
Almost instantly Cabella put Loic Remy in on goal but he put his effort wide, then with seven minutes left France made it three as Gignac played a great ball to release Griezmann who confidently finished.
Neither Newcastle man really stood out but both played OK and certainly better than anything we’ve seen for Newcastle this season.
Let’s hope both take a but of confidence from this afternoon’s match into Saturday’s clash with Leicester.
