Deschamps On Yohan Cabaye ‘I’m Not Worried But You Can’t Say He Is Happy’

Ahead of Saturday’s friendly with Portugal, French National Coach Didier Descamps has given his thoughts on Yohan Cabaye’s situation.

Earlier this week the former Newcastle playmaker said that [intlink id=”48590″ type=”post”]he would have to speak to his agents[/intlink] if a lack of games for PSG affected his place in the national team.

While [intlink id=”48647″ type=”post”]a poll of PSG fans[/intlink] suggested that he isn’t seen as a first team starter by supporters who wouldn’t care if he was sold.

However, Yohan has found support from his national coach who insists he isn’t worried just so long as Cabaye’s confidence remains high.

“He plays, he played less before the World Cup.

“I’m not worried but you can’t say he’s happy as he isn’t accustomed in the past to wonder if he was going to start.

“But it (PSG) is a big club with stronger competition.

“He can play all three positions in the middle and he is not going to lose his quality overnight.

“The important thing is that he remains confident.”

Always bad to see quality players not getting a regular game, more than a few Newcastle supporters will keep hoping that the obvious solution is a return to Newcastle United, whether on loan or permanently.
