David Moyes Announces He Now Wants Next Job

After being out of football since his sacking at Manchester United, David Moyes has now declared that he is ready to take on his next managerial post.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Moyes says that he is now ready after his break and says he is open to a club either in England or abroad.

Many Newcastle fans will think that even Mike Ashley can’t give Alan Pardew much longer if the team go much longer without a win.

David Moyes;

“I am ready to go, I have no timescale and I’m enjoying the break, but I’m a football man and want to work. I feel my best years are ahead of me and I do feel I’m still a young manager, lots to learn and lots I want to put into practice.

“Picking my next job is vitally important, I am well aware of that.

“I have an open mind as to where it will be, if it is in the Premier League or in the UK that is fine but if it is abroad then I’m okay with that.

In the footsteps of Sir Bobby?

“You look at how well Terry Venables did in Spain and how well Bobby Robson did (abroad), they are up there with the great managers and both had periods working in Europe.”

David Moyes namechecks Sir Bobby as somebody to potentially follow and a lot of us would hope that Moyes would consider following him at Newcastle as well as potentially by taking a job abroad.

The crucial factor though is surely which credible manager would take the job unless Mike Ashley loosens the vice like manner he runs the club and the lack of influence the manager has.
