Andy Carroll To Newcastle – Exclusive No.1473
The Andy Carroll to Newcastle ‘Exclusive’ this morning makes it 1473 times this has surfaced, or is that 2473….?.
The only change today is that at least it is the Chronicle running the exclusive, as opposed to the usual Alan Oliver and the Sunday People who seem to have used it at least every other week ever since Andy Carroll first left Tyneside.
The only slight problem I see with that particular reasoning is I don’t believe either thing is true.

The big problem with Carroll at West Ham is getting and keeping him fit, when he plays he is a handful for anybody.
After a couple of years of ongoing injury problems, why would West Ham then ditch him in some budget transfer when he is at last fit, after paying his wages so far for little in return? Even more bizarre are claims that they would let him go out on loan and let one of their competitors have the use of him now fit, for a small loan fee at best?
Also, at the other end of the deal, the idea that Mike Ashley is suddenly going to agree any kind of a permanent transfer for Carroll, at anything close to the wages he is on, is clear fantasy.
Whatever Ashley’s intentions, there is no way he will break this vice like grip on the level of wages he will allow at Newcastle United.
The argument as to whether Carroll would be good for Newcastle in terms of football reasons is a redundant one because it will never happen.
Though I for one do think that he and Cisse could be a more than interesting combination…
