Alan Pardew ‘Our French players are now doing really well’
Alan Pardew claims that his latest ‘batch’ of French players are now starting to get their rewards after taking time to settle in.
The Newcastle manager stating that ‘our French guys are now doing really well’.
Cabaye and Debuchy were sold for big fees, while Mapou and Ben Arfa were desperately pushed out of the door on loan.

The French players that are still at St.James’ Park are a mixed bunch but that hasn’t stopped Alan Pardew saying;
“I believe in this group of players. Some of the players, particularly the French players, sometimes take longer to settle than others, but we are starting to get some rewards from our new batch.
“Cabella has picked up and did very well at Spurs when he came on. Obertan has done terrific. Obviously Moussa Sissoko scored perhaps our goal of the season so far (at Man City).
“So our French guys are now doing really well and hopefully we’ll continue to improve.”
Obertan – Couple of good games after being in the wilderness for couple of years.
Riviere – Really poor so far.
Sissoko – Looked to be lacking guidance and not sure of what he should be doing, an end product against Spurs and Man City.
Cabella – Cross for Perez winner only bit of substance so far.
Haidara – Doing OK at times but still yet to see him get a run.
Gouffran – Terrible for last ten months.
Abeid – Hardly given a chance.
We want all our players, whether they are French or whatever, to succeed but claiming everything is great when it isn’t, doesn’t do anybody any good.
