Alan Pardew ‘It Is My Duty To Come Up With Solutions’

6 years ago

At today’s pre-Swansea press conference, Alan Pardew has stated that it is his job to come up with the ‘solutions’ to Newcastle United’s problems.

A statement that is pretty obvious seen as he is the team manager but the United boss has said we’ll have to wait and see if he makes any changes to personnel or tactics against Swansea.

Pardew admitting that he hasn’t quite been able to give the fans the ‘brand of football’ they want to see.

[intlink id=”48260″ type=”post”]Failing to score in 17 of the last 26 Premier League matches[/intlink] isn’t the ‘brand of football a fan of any club wants to see.

“We focused very much on the mental side of the game this week, responses on the pitch and how you respond to the media, because you (the media) won’t leave us alone at the moment.

“It is my job and duty to come up with solutions when things are not working, so whether we make changes – we will have to wait and see.

“Our fans want to see a brand of football that we can’t quite put together right now, we are trying to do it and have quality.”

It is all a bit lame considering how when the season kicked off, Pardew was full of how he’d never had a stronger squad and the countless attacking/creative options he had at his disposal;

“It is about digging in and fighting at the moment as a team, if we do that then something will fall our way.

“We’re trying to help the team, find a solution tp get the team playing to its quality, we’re very focused on Saturday.”

Hmmm, hoping ‘something will fall our way’ aren’t the most inspirational of words when you are looking at the manager coming up with a new strategy to cure United’s current ills.

Here’s hoping for Saturday…
