Alan Pardew claims credit for Sammy Ameobi goal

Never one to be shy in coming forward to claim credit, Alan Pardew has claimed that he played a part in Sammy Ameobi’s game changing goal.

Obviously the Newcastle manager was the one who made the substitution but he claims his part in the goal went beyond that.

Pardew claims that he instructed Jack Colback to play the ball forward from the kick-off when the second half began.

Of course the rest is history and Alan Pardew’s cunning plan worked…

Interviewed on the club’s official TV channel, the Newcastle boss was asked;

‘You brought Sammy Ameobi on but you can’t have expected him to make an impact so quickly?’

In reply;

“No, but I did say to Jack you know, play a forward pass (at second half kick-off) Jack you know, and I think that was his first forward pass of the game and it was an absolutely beautiful pass.

“It is a great goal though and suddenly the game changes.”

Unconfirmed reports claim that Pardew also told Sammy Ameobi to try and kick the ball towards that net hanging off the sticks.
