Alan Pardew ‘Ayoze Perez is just one of them players’

7 years ago

Reflecting on Ayoze Perez’ winner against Tottenham, Alan Pardew has said that the Spanish striker is ‘just one of them players’.

The former Tenerife forward glanced his header beyond Lloris to give United the win and Pardew claims that Perez is a natural striker who ‘grew and inch’ to reach Remy Cabella’s cross.

The United boss also having the belief that Ayoze Perez would have found the extra inch on his foot if he’d had to stretch for the ball.

“He’s a goalscorer and goalscorers have got this ability to grow another inch when the chances come and he grew an inch.

“If it had been something he had to stretch for then his foot would have grown.”

Just one of them players;

“He’s just one of them players.

“He’s a young player, got a lot to learn, this is a level that he is going to have to grow into, but he’s got the winner and that aint going to do him any harm at all.”

Now that Perez has got off the mark, it will be interesting to see whether he will be given the opportunity to build on that.

Like all young players he needs opportunities and a combination of injuries and a small squad could see him getting plenty in the coming weeks.

Pardew’s claim that the Premier League is a level Perez will have to grow into…well he might have to get growing a lot earlier than anticipated.
