Three More Players Added To Newcastle United Sick List
Yoan Gouffran, Papiss Cisse and Tim Krul have all reported sick and will miss Newcastle United’s trip to Crystal Palace pm Wednesday.
BBC Radio Newcastle have reported the players’ absence but whether they are likely to return in time for Stoke City on Monday night is unknown.
While it is very unlikely Cisse would have started against Palace, there may well have been the opportunity to have him available for a similar late cameo as against Hull. It also means that his full recovery will have had a setback if he can’t train.
In the previous round at Gillingham, Tim Krul started and there was every chance he would have surely done the same at Selhurst Park, with Alan Pardew at least playing him to deflect some criticism of a weakened team, considering the number of outfield changes he is likely to make.
As for Gouffran, he was a late sub at Gillingham but must have been a likely starter against Palace, especially with even Pardew acknowledging how much Riviere is struggling and needs a rest.
