Stoke v Newcastle Player Ratings – Independent Source
What were your Stoke v Newcastle player ratings?
Interesting to get an outside perspective and the industry leader for an independent viewpoint is the whoscored rating system (used by numerous sections of the football industry; including media, bookmakers and clubs themselves).
Over 200 raw statistics are used to calculate the player ratings and are weighted according to influence in the game – taking into account the area of the pitch and its outcome for each important event.
A negative approach from both sides meant one man up front at either end and the respective scores of the strikers (Crouch 7.4 and Riviere and Cisse both 5.9) sum it up.
Even though they were very average, Stoke were the better team all over the pitch really, though that didn’t take much.
I think Tiote and Sissoko came out of it with some credit and their ratings reflect that, as for the rest…
6.7 Obertan (Sub)
6.3 Sammy Ameobi (Sub)
